PRESS RELEASE

WE ARE SAD BUT PROUD OF SERGEANT UDAY SINGH

Miami, Florida: December 6, 2003: The Association of Indians in America (AIA) is very sad to learn that Sergeant Uday Singh was killed this week during an ambush in Iraq. The President of the Association, Dr. Piyush C. Agrawal said "We are extremely sad on the death of young Uday Singh who was hardly 21 and was very excited about gaining the US citizenship next month. Our heartfelt condolences go to the family." He further noted "it is a matter of pride that Uday believed in serving the country of his adoption and followed in the footsteps of his grandfather who served the British Army and his father who served the Indian Army. Though the sacrifice came too soon for a young man of his age, we salute his service to the nation. His sacrifice will always be remembered."
