Miami, FL September 19, 2001- The Association of Indians in America has established I LOVE AMERICA FUND and has launched a nationwide drive to raise money for the victims of the terrorist attack on our country.

"The funds will be donated on behalf of the Indian-American Community to the families of innocent victims, and the families of our courageous police officers and fire fighters who have given their lives to save others," said Dr. Piyush C. Agrawal, National President of AIA. "We urge all the people of Indian origin to come forth and donate generously to AIA's I LOVE AMERICA FUND. Checks should be made out to AIA - I LOVE AMERICA FUND, and mailed to 68-15 Central Avenue, Glendale, NY 11385."

Established in 1967 as a tax exempt, non-profit, non-political organization, AIA is the oldest national organization serving the Indian-American Community from coast to coast.

"By donating to AIA's I LOVE AMERICA FUND we will be sending a very loud and clear message that will reverberate all across the world that the People of Indian Origin stand united with Americans of all backgrounds in our fight against terrorism," says Gopal Khanna, Chairman of AIA's nationwide campaign to mobilize the community.

"Indian Americans have done exceptionally well in all walks of life, be it as taxi drivers, nurses, doctors, scientists, educators, bankers, technologists, entrepreneurs, and corporate leaders," said Khanna. "Time has come when we must give back generously and act now to fulfill our civic responsibility towards this great country of ours."
