In a historical spirit of patriotism, cooperation and commitment to America, the three grassroots organizations, The Association of Indians in America (AIA), National Federation of Indian American Associations (NFIA), and the Indian American Forum for Political Education (IAFPE) have joined hands to address the recent calamity inflicted upon the nation by terrorists and to shoulder their responsibility and to do the right thing in the time of national grief.
"This collective effort is to bring the Indian American Community closer and pool their resources to serve the larger American community in which we liveand breathe, and enjoy the fruits of liberty and justice for all," said Dr. Piyush C. Agrawal, National President of AIA. "We Americans of Indian origin and Indians living in the USA."

Remember the dead and show compassion for the hurt. Make September 14th a Day of Prayer. Visit your house of Worship (temple, Masjid, Church, Gurdwara)
- Light a candle at home and talk to your children.
- Display your flag on half mast.
- Express your feelings to your friends and neighbors. Share their hurt and wish them well.
- Participate in local public meetings, cheritable and public service organizations in your community and share your thoughts.
- Participate in America's recovery
- help in schools.
- help public officers in your area. Honor your policemen and firemen.
- contribute materially, such as, money, clothes, food, etc., to legitimate organizations.
- write to directly impacted families.
- give blood, etc.
- Write to your local newspapers.
- Write and call local leaders and offer to help.
- Write and call your State and Federal representatives including the President. Encourage them and the Indian leaders to work together to combat
this terrorism.
- Do something, be imaginative and participate. Ask friends and family members to do the same.
